Central Bank holds next financial literacy trainings for various target groups

5 November 2019, Baku: The CBA continues a series of events related to implementation of the ‘Increase of knowledge and skills of financial market participants’ target assigned by the ‘Strategic Roadmap on Development of Financial Services in the Republic of Azerbaijan’ approved by Decree of 6 December 2016 of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the ‘Strengthening awareness and promotion on digital payments’ direction of the ‘State Program on expansion of digital payments in the Republic of Azerbaijan’ approved by Decree# 508 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 26 September 2018.
The next part of these events was organized in October and the first week of November. Over the period, 15 financial literacy trainings were delivered to about 1,100 participants. This training involved volunteers from the DOST Agency, State Tax Service staff, the staff of the Institute for Professional Development of Education Workers, the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy, and the Julyan village secondary school of the Ismayilli region.
As part of the 31 October World Savings day, the Bank held financial awareness activities for the staff of the kindergarten and school lyceum named after M.Ibrahimov.
The participants were educated on ‘Central Bank functions’, ‘Digital payments’, ‘the Balance of Payments’, ‘Risk Management’, ‘Savings’, ‘Personal funds management’, ‘Banking – Guarantee’, ‘Responsible lending’ and ‘Banknotes’ security elements’ followed by Q&A sessions.
The participants were also detailed on the ourpullar.az portal, the edu.e-cbar.az virtual educational platform and the axtar.bizimpullar.az (infobank.az), a search system of financial products and services.
Note that the Central Bank will continue various activities aimed at improving financial knowledge and skills of the population.
