Central Bank holds financial literacy training for SME

12 November 2019, Baku: Jointly with the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBIA) and the Azerbaijan Pomegranate Producers and Exporters Association the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a training titled ‘Corporate governance’ and ‘Corporate finance’ for association member companies.

 

Training participants were detailed on advantages of corporate governance, including transparency and accountability, data disclosure, expansion of access to capital markets, corporate finance management and related international practice.

 

Knowledge and skills learned from the training as a whole are critical in terms of access to alternate source of finance for SMEs and introduction of today’s corporate governance principles.

 

The training was finalized with discussions around the issues the entrepreneurs are interested in and the Q&A session.

 

To note, this training was organized in connection with the implementation of the ‘Increasing knowledge and skills of the financial market participants’ target of the ‘Strategic Roadmap on development of financial services’.

 

The Central Bank will continue financial literacy trainings, workshops and similar financial events for entrepreneurs over the remaining part of the year.
