Results of annual competition by Central Bank on development of cashless payments

7 April 2020, Baku: The Central Bank together with the Azerbaijan Banks Association has been holding an annual competition on various directions on expansion of digital payments,  introduction of innovative solutions and development of e-banking nominations since 2013 and awards distinguished banks as part of the competition.

The following banks became the winners on 6 nominations announced by the Central Bank in 2019:

• “Leading bank in cashless payments in POS-terminals” – “Premium Bank” OJSC;
• “Leading bank in contactless payments” – “Expressbank” OJSC;
• “Leading bank in Internet banking” – “Pasha Bank” OJSC;
• “Leading bank in mobile banking” – “Kapital Bank” OJSC;
• “Leading bank in contactless POS-terminal infrastructure” – “Pasha Bank” OJSC;
• “Leading bank in acceptance of e-trade payments” – “Unibank CB” OJSC.

The Central Bank congratulates the winning banks and calls on all banks to be more active in expanding e-banking, minimizing paper carriers in customer operations, increasing the use of contactless technologies, which became even more pressing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
