Central Bank launches distant courses

31 August 2020, Baku: The Central Bank holds actions to increase consumers’ financial literacy and increase knowledge and skills of human resources across the financial sector with respect to the implementation of the ‘increasing financial market participants’ knowledge and skills’ target of the ‘Strategic roadmap on development of financial services’.

 

The Central Bank employees launched two distant courses – ‘Grounds of capital markets’ and ‘Auto compulsory insurance’ to improve economic and banking-financial knowledge and skills on the Virtual Education Platform of the Central Bank (https://edu.e-cbar.az/). At the same time, the staff developed new distant courses on burning topics in cooperation with international and local organizations – the staff launched new courses on ‘Agent banking: essence, risks and implementation modes’ and ‘Population’s digital financial literacy’ with the IFC, the member of the World Bank Group and on ‘Excess lending: problems and recommendations’ with the Azerbaijan Bank Education Center.

 

To note, the Central Bank’s Virtual Education Platform (VEP) is a free platform that support gaining knowledge and skills in economics and banking and finance. The main goal of the Platform is to deliver traditional training techniques in today’s format to formulate knowledge and skills in the related education direction. Users may sign up to the VEP any time on any course and access to video-lectures, interactive assignments and tests.

 

The final assessment exam in accordance with the requirements of the special quarantine regime for students who have successfully completed the courses provided by the Central Bank is currently conducted in video format, and successful results have already been achieved in this direction. Students who pass the video final exam with acceptable results will also be certified. Applications related to the Central Bank's Virtual Education Platform may be sent to edu@cbar.az.
