Central Bank staff conducts training for volunteers of Agency for Sustainable and Operational Social Security (DOST) on Digital Payment

21 October 2020, Baku: The Central Bank continues implementation of actions to raise financial literacy at workplaces, public and private organizations as part of the ‘Increasing market participants’ knowledge and skills’ target of the ‘Strategic Roadmap on development of financial services at the Republic of Azerbaijan’ and the ‘State Program on expansion of digital payments in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2018-2020’.

 

As continuation of these events the Bank held a training for volunteers of the Agency for Sustainable and Operations Social Security (DOST) on ‘Digital payments’ on 14-15 October 2020. The training was also conducted within the framework of a joint project of the UN Population Fund and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘Building a society for all ages: promoting the welfare of the elderly in Azerbaijan through active aging’. Volunteers with theoretical and practical knowledge and skills on digital payments will apply to DOST to help educate elderly citizens in this area.

 

Central Bank staff maintained discussions with the attendees on national payment systems,  payment cards and card operations, advantages of cashless payments, card frauds, the instant payments system, e-banking, explained topics with case studies and answered participants’ questions.

 

The Central Bank, which pays special attention to financial education, increasing financial knowledge and skills of employees of various organizations and institutions, plans to organize related trainings in future.
