Statement by the Central Bank

In response to misconceptions about the existence of a black market for sale of foreign currency in the country, we would like to state that the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan supervises banks and exchange offices licensed for foreign exchange activities in accordance with the law. Currency exchange activities without a relevant license contradicts the requirements of the legislation and the prevention of these activities is provided by the competent authorities.
