Central Bank launches coin design competition

29 January 2021, Baku: To commemorate the Patriotic War fought by our brave army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for liberation of our ancient land Karabakh, perpetuate the memory of the heroes of the Patriotic War and deliver the history of our cities and regions liberated from the clutches of the enemy to the international community the Central Bank is launching a competition for the design of commemorative coins on the following topics:

1. Commemorative coin dedicated to the motif ‘Heroic soldier of the Patriotic War’;

2. Commemorative coin dedicated to ‘Shusha - the cradle of culture and music of Azerbaijan’;

3. Commemorative coin dedicated to the motif ‘Architectural pearl of Azerbaijan - Khudafar's bridge’;

4. Commemorative coin dedicated to the motif ‘National leader Heydar Aliyev – a chronicle of brotherhood ‘One nation, two states’;

5. Commemorative coins on the history and cultural heritage of our territories liberated from the enemy:

- Jabrail district

- Fuzuli district

- Zangilan district

- Gubadly district

- Agdam district

- Kalbajar district

- Lachin district

- Khojavend district

- Sugovushan village

To participate in the competition, copies of ID cards and sketches of commemorative coins should be submitted to the Central Bank by 18:00, 22.02.2021.

A jury will evaluate submitted sketches and identify the winner, the design of commemorative coins will be developed on the basis of the winning sketch.

The prize to be awarded to the winner of the competition on commemorative coins is AZN 1000 per motif.
