10 September 2021, Baku:  The Central Bank of Azerbaijan pursues the ‘Clean money in circulation’ policy to maintain high quality of banknotes in circulation, effectively organize anti-counterfeiting and ensure cash related satisfaction of the population.

As part of this policy, commercial banks are always required to issue to circulation high quality banknotes processed in automated systems or those processed in relevant systems of the Central Bank.

However, information has been spread in media and social networks recently on unfit banknotes dispensed from ATMs owned by the International Bank of Azerbaijan OJSC.

We would like to inform you that commercial banks are responsible for unfit banknotes dispensed from ATMs.

To that end, all commercial banks, including the International Bank of Azerbaijan OJSC have been once again instructed to take additional measures.
