13 October 2021, Baku: The Central Bank takes continuous measures to implement the goals set in the strategic plan for the capital market development. As a next step, the ‘Investment Journey’ project organized by the Central Bank, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Baku Stock Exchange and investment companies will be kicked-off on 20 October 2021 to raise financial literacy and promote financing through the capital market.
The main goal of the project is to support financing of SMEs, including start-ups through the capital market, development of existing businesses and promotion of corporate governance standards. At the same time, the project envisages informing business entities operating in the regions about the capital market and benefits of listing on the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE), raising awareness on the securities market, increasing interest in this area in regions and drawing attention of the business community to the capital market.
The first event within the project will be held on 20 October 2021 at the SME Development Center located in the Khachmaz region. Representatives of the BSE and investment companies will make presentations on capital market financing and BSE listing, as well as provide free investment consulting to businesses and invite them to the ‘Listing Advisory Program’ implemented by the BSE. The event will also include an on-site inspection of the farms of business entities interested in financing through the capital market by investment companies and assessment of their financing opportunities.
