Central Bank starts ‘Pay with AniPay and earn’ lottery to stimulate cashless payments

1 November 2021, Baku: The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan is starting a national stimulating ‘Pay with AniPay and earn’ lottery covering wide strata of the population from 1 November 2021 onward to shape cashless payment habits in the society and elevate cashless turnover in the economy, as well as to promote the use of the Instant Payments System (IPS), which provides innovative payment solutions.

Every user conducting minimum an AZN 5 (five) worth of transfer operation through IPS during the stimulating lottery to be held in November of this year will get right to participate in the lottery. The lottery only applies to transactions between individuals and a total of 400 people are expected to win throughout the country. AZN100 (one hundred) worth of prize amount will be credited to the winner’s bank account. The lottery will consider IPS  ‘AniPay’ application, as well as the ‘AniPay’ functionality section of banks’ integrated Internet and mobile banking services and transfers made through IPS in branches.

It is worth to note that at present 20 banks, the State Treasury Agency of the Ministry of Finance of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund of the Azerbaijan Republic and Azerpost LLC are integrated into the IPS platform. To involve the population and economic entities in the more active use of the system, the Central Bank decided not to charge service fees from the participating organizations until 1 January, 2022 for the operations conducted through IPS.
