Working Group on Effective Management and Macroeconomic Indicators of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings holds next meeting

The next meeting of the Working Group on Effective Management and Macroeconomic Indicators of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings was held on July 28, 2022 at 16:00 through online platform “Webex”.

Representatives from Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, State Oil Fund, State Statistics Commitee, State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations, Public Association of Assistance to Economic Initiatives, Spektr Center for Socio-Economic Research and Development, as well as “Ekvita” company participated in online meeting. The meeting participants discussed the actions taken during the first part of the year for the implementation of the action plan of the working group for 2022 and exchanged their views on the next steps. Ensuring budget transparency, increasing the debt sustainability, improvement of the quality of regulation and the effective management of natural resources were the main topics of discussion during the meeting. Extensive discussions were held on the recent inflationary processes in global, as well as domestic economy and antiinflation policy implemented in the country to maintain price stability. Additionally, the meeting participants were informed about the work done in the direction of increasing the capabilities of the virtual education platform of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and the launch of new courses in order to further improve the financial literacy of the population – a measure which was added to the action plan of the working group this year.

As a result of the meeting held in the format of mutual discussions, the decisions were made to ensure the involvement of representatives from other relevant bodies in the work of the working group and the formulation of relevant suggestions that could serve to the improvement of country’s position in international rankings to be presented to the Commission for review.
