19 October 2022: The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan would like to warn and inform the population that recently there have been cases of phone calls to plastic cardholders of various banks on behalf of the Central Bank's "Hotline" staff and requests for card information under the pretext of preventing risks of tampering with their cards.

We are informing you that under no circumstances the employees of the Central Bank will request personal information, as well as information on bank and payment cards, from banking service consumers using the above methods.

Given the above, the Central Bank once again warns that people with bank accounts and bankcards should be vigilant and cautious against such fraudulent cases and not provide personal and payment card information to third parties under any circumstances.

We are asking citizens to contact their banks immediately if they encounter such cases and inform relevant public authorities.
