Central Bank holds event marking 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev at Bilasuvar Education Complex named after Mubariz Ibrahimov

27 April 2023, Baku: The Central Bank held an event dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Bilasuvar Education Complex. 

The participants of the event first visited the Great Leader's monument and paid tribute to his memory. Opening the event with an introductory speech, Executive Director of the Central Bank Gular Pashayeva said that the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was a particularly important period in the history of Azerbaijan. The first period of his leadership was a turning point in the modern history of Azerbaijan, a period of rapid growth in social and political life. Today's state sovereignty and economic independence of Azerbaijan would not be possible without the potential laid down in those years.

The second period of H. Aliyev's leadership in Azerbaijan coincided with more difficult historical conditions. At the beginning of the 1990s, newly independent Azerbaijan was experiencing chaos and a serious economic crisis. In these difficult conditions, national solidarity and socio-political stability was restored in a short period of time after Heydar Aliyev came to power. Thanks to the social and political stability established in a short period of time and a far-sighted foreign policy, Azerbaijan has become an attractive country for major global investors. Under such conditions, the main priority in the economic sphere became the restoration of macroeconomic stability. Inflation and budget deficits have decreased manifold. The exchange rate stabilized and the manat became the only means of payment in the country.

The return of the National Leader to power was a turning point in the establishment and development of the financial and banking system, as well as in other areas. On the basis of the adopted programs, the banking system was revitalized, serious processes of consolidation and restructuring were started, and the number of private banks was optimized. Under the conditions of ensuring macroeconomic and financial stability, the population's confidence in the banking system began to be restored.

In general, the triad of stability, reforms, and development has become a characteristic feature of the economy during H. Aliyev's years in power, and the social situation of the population has significantly improved. Thanks to the steps taken during all these years, the goal of a modern state, a strong economy, and an inclusive society has already become a reality.

Pashayeva said that the Central Bank carries out intellectually oriented activity on corporate social responsibility by implementing various social and cultural projects. In this regard, one of the successful projects under the authorship of the Central Bank is Bilasuvar Education Complex located in Bilasuvar district and named after National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov.

In 2010, on the initiative of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the school began to operate in the region, where people most need quality, diverse education, and it became an irreplaceable gift for the people living here. Today, students from Bilasuvar, Jalilabad, Masalli, Lankaran, Neftchala, Salyan and other districts study in this educational institution.

The educational complex has an infrastructure and material and technical base that meets the most modern requirements, and teachers with the highest pedagogical skills of the region work here. Along with the development of educational activities in the school, the formation of the social environment of students is one of our main priorities. Various activities are organized for our students, such as music, sports, intellectual competitions and art reading.

At the end of her speech, she emphasized that the purpose of this institution is to train young strugglers.

Other participants also stressed in their speeches that the significance and greatness of the matchless work done by our national leader for the people of Azerbaijan and the entire region is better understood with the passage of time. Heydar Aliyev's school of statehood will remain the ideological core of the development of independent Azerbaijan for decades.

The event continued with an art program dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader, performed by students of the school.
