On exchange of mutilated and unfit for circulation national currency

9 October 2023, Baku: ‘Cash offices’ of the Central Bank keep operating to promptly response to appeals of the population regarding exchange of mutilated and unfit for circulation national currency and elevate satisfaction of citizens.

Citizens can appeal to the service office of the Central Bank located at Bulbul Ave 27, Baku city (from 10:00 to 13:00), as well as to regional offices located in the towns of Nakhchivan, Yevlakh, Ganja, Bilasuvar and Guba (from 10:00 to 16:00) for exchange or delivery to the expertise of national currency, including currency unfit for circulation.

The Central Bank changes national currency free of charge.

We would like to mention that, according to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘on the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan’:

• The Central Bank changes currency fit for circulation without any restrictions.
• The face value of a banknote consisting of a whole part or successive parts belonging to the same banknote, with no less than 60% of its surface and at least one of two serial numbers on it intact, is paid by the Central Bank.

• The face value of a metal coin with images and inscriptions on its entire surface in a volume that allows determining its denomination and not subjected to deformation is paid by the Central Bank.
