New regulations governing reproduction of national currency in the Republic of Azerbaijan approved

One of the main targets of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan as part of effective and flexible management of cash circulation is to strengthen efforts to counterfeit the national currency.

Thus, according to the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘on the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan’, the ‘Regulation on reproduction of currency’ approved with the 25 December 2023 decision of the Management Board of the Central Bank took effect on 3 November 2023.

The Regulation determines requirements on the reproduction of national banknotes and coins, including requirements on their dimensions during the reproduction and quality parameters against e-reproduction.

The currency, developed in violation of the requirements of the Reproduction regulation is considered counterfeit.
