Central Bank conducts a series of training sessions for financial institutions

1 December 2023, Baku: The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (Central Bank) considers it important to ensure effective and high quality implementation of the requirements established by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Prevention of Legalization of Criminally Obtained Property and the Financing of Terrorism” (AML/CFT Law) in the activities of financial institutions. In order to achieve the stated goals in this direction, the Central Bank and the Financial Monitoring Service of the  Republic of Azerbaijan conducted a series of training sessions for financial institutions on the application of the AML/CFT Law on 27-30 November.

More than 130 employees of financial institutions (banks, non-bank credit institutions, investment companies, insurers engaged in life savings insurance activities, persons licensed for currency exchange activities, national post operator and central depository) participated in the training

The Central Bank will continue measures to enhance the knowledge and skills of financial institutions' staff in order to effectively meet AML/CFT Law requirements.
