Azerbaijan Insurtech Summit held with support of Central Bank

16 April 2024, Baku: The Azerbaijan Insurtech Summit, supported by the Central Bank and co-organized by the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, Türkiye InsurTech Hub, and the New Generation Management Company, took place in the Baku Convention Center on April 16.

At the event, which brought together about three hundred representatives from the financial markets of both countries, key issues on the agenda of the technological transformation of the Azerbaijani insurance market were discussed. Additionally, views on digitalization experiences of Turkish insurance companies were exchanged during panel discussions organized within the event.

In his opening speech Taleh Kazimov, the Governor of the Central Bank, emphasized the importance of the Azerbaijan Insurtech Summit in facilitating the learning of the experience of Turkish insurers, as well as fostering cooperation between the two countries. He also spoke about the priorities of the Central Bank aimed at ensuring sustainable development of the Azerbaijani insurance market and supporting its digital transformation.

Rashad Nabiyev, the Minister of Digital Development and Transport, and Tahir Mirkishili, the Chair of the Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Milli Majlis, spoke about ongoing initiatives in technological transformation in the country. The speeches were followed by panel discussions.
