Azerbaijan Insurance Forum held with the support of Central Bank

24 June 2024: The Azerbaijan Insurers Association (AIA) organized the 10th Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum with the strategic support of the Central Bank.

The two-day forum featured discussions on critical topics such as life insurance and joint activities of bank channels, vehicle, and health insurance, as well as the role of insurance in climate risk management.

Opening the Forum Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank, spoke about the positive dynamics in the insurance sector. “The financial sector, particularly the insurance sector is playing an important role in economic development. Over recent years, the insurance sector has undergone significant institutional reforms, the infrastructure has improved considerably, and important results have been achieved”, - the Governor stated.

Ziya Aliyev, the Central Bank’s Executive Director, spoke on the second day of the forum and highlighted the achievements of the insurance sector. “The Forum is a fruitful and useful platform to share the rich and successful insurance practices of various countries and serves as a crucial intellectual resource for ongoing insurance reforms in Azerbaijan”, he said.

The Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum has become an important platform for expanding business ties between domestic and international insurers and for the exchange of experience.
