Event dedicated to 105 year anniversary of central banking held

Baku, September 30, 2024: The Central Bank of Azerbaijan held an event to celebrate the 105th anniversary of central banking in Azerbaijan.

The staff of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan headed by Governor Taleh Kazimov visited the tomb of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor. The participants of the visit paid tribute to his memory by laying flowers at his grave.

The memory of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated and flowers were placed on her grave.

Then the Bank's management and staff laid flowers on the graves of our compatriots who died for the independence of our country and the freedom of our people and in front of the "Eternal Torch" monument in the Alley of Martyrs and commemorated their dear memories.

Also, a wreath was laid before the bust of the Great Leader in the administrative building of the Central Bank and a meeting dedicated to the 105th anniversary was held with the participation of Bank’s employees. The event began with the playing of the national anthem. A minute of silence was observed as a mark of deep respect and honor to the memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.

Speaking at the event, Governor of the Central Bank Taleh Kazimov talked about the history of the Central Bank, which has gone through a long path of development, and stressed that the far-reaching reforms in the banking and financial system of our country carried out by the great leader Heydar Aliyev after the independence of our country have made an important contribution to the progress up to the present day. He drew attention to the successful implementation of complex reforms aimed at bringing the country's financial sector to a qualitatively new level of development under the leadership of Mr. Ilham Aliyev. T. Kazimov paid special attention to the active participation of all employees of the Bank in the implemented reforms and wished them success in achieving the set goals.

During his speech, Governor of the Central Bank thanked the employees who participated in the meeting and worked at the Central Bank for a long time for their contribution to the development of the organization and the sector.
