29 November 2024, Baku: The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan revealed the results of banks’ credit activity survey for Q3 2024. The survey includes assessment of supply and demand factors for business, consumer, and mortgage loans.
According to the survey results, in the third quarter of 2024 there was no change in banks' lending policies for the business portfolio, but demand increased. According to the respondents, there was a tightening of standards for consumer loans and mortgage loans against the background of an increase in interest rates, and a slight decline in demand.
According to the survey, banks believe that credit standards for business, consumer and mortgage loans will remain unchanged in the next quarter of 2024 and that credit demand will increase for all three portfolios. The Central Bank continuously monitors changes in the credit policies of the banking industry and sets appropriate supervisory guidelines.
