Central Bank approves Guidelines on Green and Sustainability-linked Loans

19 February 2025, Baku: One of the core pillars of the Central Bank’s ‘2023-2026 Sustainable Finance Roadmap’ is the formation of the ecosystem for sustainable financial flows. To that end, the Management Board of the Central Bank approved the ‘Guidelines on green and sustainability-linked loans.’

The main aim of the Guidelines, developed in line with internationally recognized Green Loan Principles and Sustainability-linked Loans Principles, is to shape and encourage the green and sustainability-linked lending. The paper provides recommendations for credit institutions on issuing green and sustainability-linked loans.

The Guidelines cover the recommendations for credit institutions for structuring internal policies and rules on the management of the green and sustainability-linked lending portfolio and determining the management framework in general.
