Working Group on Effective Governance and Macroeconomic Indicators holds its next meeting

30 July 2025, Baku: The Commission on Business Environment and International Ratings' Working Group on Effective Governance and Macroeconomic Indicators held its next meeting via videoconference on July 29, 2025.

Officials from the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the State Oil Fund, the State Statistical Committee, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Supervision under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the meeting.

The meeting heard reports on the work done in the first half of the year in the direction of implementing the approved action plan of the working group for the current year. The reports covered issues such as ensuring budget transparency, debt sustainability, the burden of state regulation, monetary freedom, the Global Innovation Index, as well as effective management of natural resources.

Azer Alasgarov, Head of the working group and Director of the Monetary Policy Department of the Central Bank, concluded the discussions. He stated that work should continue toward implementing the approved action plan. He shared his views with the participants on the need for more effective communication of information on the work done.
