Central Bank Puts Spotlight on Tech and Talent at ICPC World Finals in Baku

3 September 2025, Baku: The 49th World Finals of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) are underway in Baku, marking the first time Azerbaijan hosts the global competition.
The Central Bank organized an event titled ‘The Role of Technology and Talents in Financial Transformation’ on the second day of the finals.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Governor Vusal Khalilov underscored the power of human capital in driving technological progress. He noted that international competitions like ICPC not only display top talent but also provide young people with valuable opportunities for professional growth.
The event continued as a panel discussion, where senior officials of the Central Bank engaged in extensive discussions on the development of payment systems in Azerbaijan, the promotion of financial technologies and innovations, the role of programming in accelerating digital transformation, as well as IT solutions.
The event brought together nearly 100 participants, including students, engaged in information and financial technologies, as well as the payment systems sector.
Note that, teams and participants are involved in various technology-focused meetings, presentations, and sessions as part of the 49th ICPC World Finals.
ICPC is crucial in advancing programming in the country, fostering young people’s interest in the field, and enhancing international recognition.
