Central Bank-partnered 49th ICPC World Finals concludes

5 September 2025, Baku: The 49th World Finals of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), hosted in Baku for the first time and held in partnership with the Central Bank, successfully concluded. Over five grueling hours, teams raced to solve real-world problems.

 

The official closing ceremony of the 49th World Finals was held on September 4 at the Baku Expo Center, bringing together the ICPC community, partners, and teams.

 

Central Bank Governor Taleh Kazimov, speaking at the ceremony, praised the students’ “determination and unity” and called them future leaders who will help shape the world’s digital future.

 

Other speakers included ADA University rector Hafiz Pashayev, ICPC Foundation executive director Bill Poucher, Innovation and Digital Development Agency chairman Farid Osmanov, and Fuad Hajiyev, director of this year’s finals who congratulated the young participants on their successful involvement in this significant initiative.

 

When the results were announced, Saint Petersburg University emerged as world champion, solving 11 challenges. The University of Tokyo, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Tsinghua University also claimed gold medals.

 

The event was hosted by ADA University, organized by the ICPC Foundation, in cooperation with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency and the ICPC Azerbaijan community, and supported by PASHA Holding in partnership with the Central Bank.
