Central Bank hosts Macroeconomic Sustainability Working Group meeting

12 September 2025, Baku: The Central Bank convened the next meeting of the Macroeconomic Sustainability Working Group, established by the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers to oversee the full, timely and effective implementation of the 2022-2026 Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and coordinate efforts across relevant public institutions.
Representatives from the Central Bank, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Justice, the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund, the Deposit Insurance Fund, and the Agrarian Insurance Fund participated in the session.
Opening the event, Aliyar Mammadyarov, Chair of the Working Group and First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, briefed attendees on progress toward the Strategy’s ‘Goal of Sustainability Against Internal and External Effects,’ emphasizing the importance of sustained efforts to ensure effective implementation in the coming periods. Ayaz Museyibov, deputy Chair of the Working Group, Deputy CEO of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, made a presentation to detail the guests about the work completed in the first half of 2025 and the outcomes achieved.
Participants reviewed the monitoring and evaluation results for 15 key measures approved under the Strategy’s three priority areas focused on strengthening resilience to internal and external shocks. The meeting featured extensive discussions with working group members and Central Bank staff on further enhancing the effectiveness of these initiatives. The session concluded with agreement on next steps to bolster implementation and impact.
