Central Bank held a meeting with students of the Swiss Higher School of Management HES-SO

2 October 2025, Baku: As part of a two-week internship program in Azerbaijan organized by the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), students from the Swiss Higher School of Management HES-SO visited the Central Bank.

 

Vugar Ahmadov, the Central Bank's Executive Director, met with master's-level students studying Business Management in Eurasia. During the meeting, Ahmadov provided detailed information on the Central Bank's regulatory and supervisory activities to ensure macroeconomic stability in Azerbaijan. He also discussed how successfully implementing the targets and priorities set forth in the Financial Sector Development Strategy for 2024-2026 will strengthen the country's macroeconomic and financial stability.

 

Later, Central Bank representatives gave presentations to the students about the organization's main functions and areas of activity. The presentations provided detailed information on monetary policy, the prevention of the legalization of criminally obtained property and terrorism financing, the development of capital markets, and financial technologies and innovations. Students' questions on these topics were answered.

 

The experience at the Central Bank was valuable in terms of increasing the the knowledge of students from Switzerland, Mexico, France, Italy, and Portugal about the Azerbaijani economy and financial sector, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, as well as strengthening international cooperation.
