Central Bank hosted third meeting of Macroeconomic Sustainability Sub-Working Group

6 October 2025, Baku: The third meeting of the Macroeconomic Sustainability Sub-Working Group, established to develop the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027-2030, took place at the Central Bank on October 6.
Speaking at the meeting, Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank and Head of the Sub-Working Group, positively assessed the work done on pinpointing strategic measures for macroeconomic sustainability, outlining their interim and ultimate objectives, justifying relevant measures, and appraising the required financial resources.
He emphasized the importance of the proposed measures in strengthening macroeconomic sustainability in the country, increasing financial stability, and developing the financial sector and its role in economic growth, taking into account international experience and local characteristics.
During the meeting, discussions were held in the working group on specifying some measures related to macroeconomic stability and financial sector development, and it was recommended that discussions on these measures be conducted in the process of work.
In closing, Taleh Kazimov told the working group members to sum up the talks on the suggested actions, prepare their justifications, and determine the necessary financial resources.
Taleh Kazimov said that, in the coming weeks, the working group's proposed measures will be sent to other executing bodies for feedback. He also noted that the goal is to finalize and present the work of the working group by the end of this month.
The Macroeconomic Sustainability Sub-Working Group was established based on the Cabinet of Ministers' Decree No. 356s dated June 18, 2025, to ensure the implementation of the document on the preparation of the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027-2030 and the 2nd State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories, approved by Presidential Decree No. 611 dated May 30, 2025.
