Central Bank hosts the 4th Macroeconomic Sustainability sub-group meeting

30 October 2025, Baku: The fourth meeting of the Macroeconomic Sustainability Sub-Working Group, established to develop the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027-2030, took place at the Central Bank on October 30.

Speaking at the meeting, Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank and Head of the sub-Working Group, positively assessed the work done on preparation of the final version of the Action Plan. He emphasized the effective cooperation, mutual coordination, and responsible approach of the sub-Working Group members in preparing the Action Plan in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' Order No. 356s, issued on June 18, 2025.

In general, Taleh Kazimov emphasized the importance of the proposed measures in strengthening the country's macroeconomic sustainability, further increasing its financial stability, and expanding the financial sector's role in economic growth. These measures take into account international experience and local characteristics.

Taleh Kazimov stated that the sub-Working Group's draft Action Plan on Macroeconomic Sustainability, along with proposals for financial needs (financial demand) to implement the measures, will be submitted to the Head of the Working Group and the Commission's Deputy Chairman by November 1, in accordance with paragraph 6.5 of Order No. 356s.

Representatives of state institutions participating in the meeting also highly appreciated the activities of the sub-Working Group, emphasizing the effective coordination of the work carried out and the usefulness of the discussions and exchange of views. They noted that the Action Plan to be adopted will make a significant contribution to the country’s long-term economic stability and institutional development.

The Macroeconomic Sustainability Sub-Working Group was established based on the Cabinet of Ministers' Decree No. 356s dated June 18, 2025, to ensure the implementation of the document on the preparation of the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027-2030 and the 2nd State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories, approved by Presidential Decree No. 611 dated May 30, 2025.
