Effective Governance and Macroeconomic Indicators Working Group holds next meeting

25 November 2025, Baku: On November 24, 2025, the Working Group on Effective Governance and Macroeconomic Indicators of the Commission on Business Environment and International Ratings held its next meeting via videoconference.

Officials from the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the State Oil Fund, the State Statistical Committee, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication attended the meeting, as did representatives of public organizations.

The meeting heard reports on the Working Group's implementation of the approved action plan for 2025 in the third quarter. The reports covered issues such as ensuring budget transparency, debt sustainability, the burden of state regulation, monetary freedom, the Global Innovation Index, and the effective management of natural resources. During the discussion, it was noted that information on the work carried out in accordance with the action plan during the reporting period was widely published on the official websites of the relevant institutions, as well as on social networking platforms. The meeting also featured a preliminary exchange of views on the preparation of the Working Group's action plan for 2026.

At the end of the discussions, Azer Alasgarov, Head of the Working Group and Director of the Monetary Policy Department of the Central Bank, stated that work should continue on implementing the approved action plan for 2025. He added that the action plan for 2026 should be prepared taking into account the results of the current year.
