Central Bank hosts Macroeconomic Sustainability Working Group meeting

5 February 2026, Baku: The Central Bank convened the next meeting of the Macroeconomic Sustainability Working Group on 3 February 2026.

 

At the meeting, participants reviewed detailed monitoring and evaluation results for 2025 covering 15 measures approved across three areas of activity under the objective ‘Resilience to Internal and External Shocks.’

 

Members of the Working Group and Central Bank staff then held in-depth discussions on how to strengthen the effectiveness of the measures already in place and outlined next steps.

 

Aliyar Mammadyarov, First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank and Chair of the Working Group provided an overview of the results achieved under the objective of ‘Resilience to Internal and External Shocks’ as part of the strategy and highlighted initiatives led by the Central Bank. A representative of the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms followed with a presentation on the 2025 monitoring and evaluation results for measures under this objective, prompting further discussion among participants.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Central Bank, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Justice, the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms, the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund, the Deposit Insurance Fund, and the Agricultural Insurance Fund.

 

The Macroeconomic Sustainability Working Group was established by Decree No.487s of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 12 June 2023 to oversee the full, timely and effective implementation of the 2022-2026 Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and coordinate efforts across relevant public institutions.
