Central Bank improves public service activities

16-02-2026

16 February 2026, Baku: The Central Bank currently provides services including the exchange of national currency, the sale of commemorative coins, and the delivery of coins purchased through its Commemorative Coins online sales system. These services are available at the Yevlakh Reserve Center, Bilasuvar Regional Center, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Office, and the Cash Office located at 27 Bulbul Avenue, Baku.

To expand public access to these services and ensure more efficient service delivery, effective 2 March 2026, the exchange of national banknotes will be carried out free of charge by branches of the International Bank of Azerbaijan and Kapital Bank throughout the country. As of that date, the Central Bank’s Cash Office at 27 Bulbul Avenue, Baku, will cease operations.

The sale of commemorative coins, as well as the pickup of coins purchased through the Central Bank’s online sales system, will be relocated to the bank’s administrative building at 90 Rashid Behbudov Street in Baku. These services will be available Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10.00 to 12.00.

The sale and buyback of bullion coins will continue through the Central Bank’s authorized sales agents, Bank of Baku OJSC and TuranBank OJSC.

Under the Central Bank’s ‘Regulations on signs of currencies unfit for circulation, their exchange and expertise’ (https://uploads.cbar.az/assets/38e8aa00fa350a6db51c4b7cb.pdf), members of the public may also apply for banknote exchanges at the bank’s regional offices, commercial banks operating in the country, local branches of foreign banks and the national postal operator.
