Central Bank launches Program to Support Economic Journalism at Azerbaijan University of Languages

6 April 2026, Baku: On April 3, 2026, the Central Bank, in cooperation with Azerbaijan University of Languages (ADU), held the opening ceremony of the ‘Support Program for the Development of Economic Journalism’ organized for students at the university’s International Journalism program.
Central Bank representatives praised ADU’s cooperation and emphasized the initiative’s role in training future media professionals. They highlighted ongoing efforts to expand public communication, strengthen media partnerships, and develop professional expertise in economic journalism. It was also stressed that such training programs are essential for conveying financial and economic topics to the public accurately and understandably.
ADU officials welcomed the program, noting its value for students’ professional growth and future careers. Participants were introduced to the Bank’s official online resources and financial literacy platforms.
The program’s first session, led by Tarana Alirzayeva, Head of the Bank’s Monetary Policy Reporting Division, focused on ‘Fundamentals of Macroeconomics and Their Application in Journalism.’ It covered monetary policy tools, macroeconomic forecasting, and modern approaches to central bank communications.
The program will continue with additional training sessions, designed to deepen students’ expertise in economics and finance and prepare them for specialized journalistic work.
