Azerbaijan Central Bank and Sudan Central Bank sign Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation

18 June 2026: Azerbaijan Central Bank Governor Taleh Kazimov met with a delegation led by Sudan's Central Bank Governor Amna Mirghani. This is Mirghani's first visit to our country, which coincides with the 51st Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group.
The meeting discussed the macroeconomic situation and development trends, mechanisms for improving the transmission of monetary policy, deepening correspondent banking relations, as well as existing approaches to expanding financial inclusion.
At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to strengthen the legal and institutional foundations of cooperation, expand their mutual relations, and promote the exchange of advanced knowledge and experience in central banking.
The Memorandum will facilitate deeper cooperation in the areas of monetary policy, the financial sector, payment systems, financial technologies, banking supervision, and the prevention of the legalization of criminally acquired property and the financing of terrorism. To this end, meetings, seminars, experience exchanges, training programs, and business visits are planned.
