Information notice: Central Bank warns investors about unlicensed foreign investment platforms in the Republic of Azerbaijan

21-08-2026

The Central Bank’s monitoring has found that some foreign investment platforms are actively promoted in the country and used to attract Azerbaijani residents. The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan is warning residents about foreign investment platforms that are being promoted in Azerbaijan through websites, social media, training programs, seminars and other marketing channels.

The Central Bank states that a license issued by a financial regulator in another country does not, by itself, authorize an investment platform to provide or promote investment services in Azerbaijan. Under Azerbaijani law, investment services may be provided in the country only by entities that hold the appropriate license issued by the Central Bank. Investors should therefore check whether a service provider is licensed to operate in Azerbaijan before using its investment services.

To help protect investors' rights, the Central Bank recommends that residents entrust their investments only to entities holding an investment company license issued by the Central Bank. The list of investment companies licensed by the Central Bank is available on the Central Bank's official website (https://www.cbar.az/page-200/investment-companies?language=en).
