Central Bank holds financial literacy related OJTs

10 January 2019, Baku: The Central Bank continues actions with respect to the implementation of the ‘Increasing knowledge and skills of financial market participants’ target of the ‘Strategic Roadmap on Development of Financial Services’ approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 6 December 2016. As part of implementation of this strategic target the Central Bank held financial literacy related on-the-job-trainings (OJT) for total 200 employees of a number of public and private organizations in the second half of 2018.
Trainers educated the participants on budgeting, banking operations, money transfers, security elements of money, and cashless payments and informed them on the Financial literacy (bizimpullar.az) and the Virtual education platforms (edu.e-cbar.az). Also, the staff of these institutions were involved to the ‘Savings’ interactive game at the support of the German Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation.
At the same time, over this period as a pilot project over 70 members of the ‘Association of Disabled Entrepreneurs’ Public Union were trained on banking operations, lending, guarantee and consumer finance protection, they saw related animations, conducted discussions and received answers to the questions they were interested in. The disabled entrepreneurs who attended the trainings got e-carriers full of educative materials.
The Central Bank is planning to hold various financial literacy related trainings, as well as events oriented towards boosting financial knowledge and skills of the population in future too.
