On adaptation of new 10 manat banknote issued to circulation in cash payment machines

24 April 2019, Baku: The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued to circulation a 10 manat banknote with updated design and security elements on 18 March 2019. In an international practice after central banks officially announce the issue of new banknotes to circulation they release a limited number of banknotes in question to allow adjustment (adaptation) of cash payment machines in use across the country which takes a certain timeframe (in an international practice up to 10 months).

The Central Bank has issued to circulation new 10 manat in the amount of 0.5% of total circulation, sufficient for adaptation of cash payment machines owned by credit institutions, the national operator of postal communication and NBCIs. The above organizations are taking actions with respect to the adjustment of relevant systems to be fully completed by the end of May 2019.
