Issued smart cards were presented to the BSU to be further delivered to students by the University in light of the current pandemic driven situation.
Students of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics and the Baku Engineering University have already received student cards with payment functionality within the frames of the ‘Student smart card’ project, planned to cover all higher educational institutions of the country by the end-year.
Students will receive their scholarships and make any payments via the cards both inside and outside the country. Parents living in regions will be able to easily send money to their children. Students will also be able to use their cards to access the University, the library and reading rooms. Student smart card coverage is planned to be further expanded, to be used in public transport and other services. Use of these cards by students will contribute to formation of a new generation with modern payment culture and development of a digital ecosystem in the country.
