The Central Bank of Azerbaijan is announcing two competitions on “Insurance for Children” in the Month of Financial Literacy

The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, together with the Bureau of Compulsory Insurance and the Association of Insurers, is carrying out large-scale projects for the implementation of awaresness-raising and promotional activities under the Action Plan for the Implementation of  Works to Develop the Insurance Sector”, approved by the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 354s dated 21 May, 2019. As part of these projects, a virtual course competition "Insurance for Children" and a  drawing competition on "Insurance through the Eyes of Children" are announced in November this year. It should be noted that November of each year is celebrated by the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan with various events such as the Month of Financial Literacy.

 

The purpose of the competitions is to acquaint schoolchildren with the concept of insurance, which is a component of financial literacy, to provide them with basic information about insurance, its types and benefits.

 

Competition on the virtual course "Insurance for Children"

 

To participate in the virtual course competition, schoolchildren need to register for one of the distance courses "Uşaqlar üçün sığorta", "Insurance for Children" or "Детям о страховании" on the Central Bank's Virtual Education Platform (https://edu.e-cbar.az). After listening to video lessons in one of these courses, their parent or teacher agree on the test date, time, and form (online or traditional) with the Financial Literacy Department staff no later than 23 November, 2021, 6:00 p.m. You can get detailed information about the registration process via this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iNZkyQ0Q7M

 

Children taking the test online will be able to answer questions from their home or school under the supervision of a Central Bank employee by clicking on the link sent to them.

 

Children wishing to take the traditional exam can come to the building of the Central Bank at 27 Bulbul Avenue on the appointed day and time and answer the questions of the course using a computer allocated for them.

Schoolchildren aged 7-10 can participate in the virtual course competition.

 

Drawing competition on “Insurance through the Eyes of Children”

 

To participate in the drawing competition "Insurance through the Eyes of Children", schoolchildren are invited to listen to one of the virtual courses "Uşaqlar üçün sığorta", "Insurance for children" or "Детям о страховании" and draw based on the information they have learned about insurance.

 

Drawings should be performed in A4 or A3 format using water (oil) paint or pencil. They should be sent to the Central Bank at 27 Bulbul Avenue, AZ 1000, Baku. The deadline for submission is 25 November, 2021. Information about the student's name, surname, patronymic name, date of birth, city, district, village, settlement, school (school’s title, number, type - lyceum, high school, gymnasium, etc.), as well as at least 2 mobile phone numbers of the parents or teacher must be clearly written on the reverse side of the drawing.

 

Schoolchildren aged 6-10 can participate in the drawing competition.

 

In both competitions, 60 winners will be selected (30 in the virtual course, 30 in the drawing competition) and 50 schools with the most participants. Winners and winning schools will be awarded with certificates and prizes.

 

The results of the competitions will be announced on 7 December, 2021.
