Working Group on Effective Management and Macroeconomic Indicators of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings holds next meeting

The next meeting of the Working Group on Effective Management and Macroeconomic Indicators of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings was held on December 28, 2021, at 15:00 through online platform “Webex”.

Representatives from Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, State Oil Fund, as well as Eurasia Extractive Industries Knowledge Hub and Public Association of Assistance to Economic Initiatives participated in online meeting. The meeting participants discussed the status of implementation of the actions specified in the activity plan of the working group for 2021 and exchanged their views on the next steps. The work done over the reporting period to ensure budget transparency, to increase the debt sustainability, to optimize the burden of government regulation, and to improve the quality of regulation were the main topics of discussion during the meeting. The meeting participants also discussed the offer to include Resource Governance Index into the activity plan of the working group for 2022 and to formulate proposals for work to be done in this direction.

As a result of the meeting held in the format of mutual discussions, the decisions were made to ensure the involvement of representatives from other relevant bodies in the work of the working group and the formulation of relevant suggestions that could serve to the improvement of country’s position in international rankings to be presented to the Commission for review.
