Azerbaijan Financial Forum held with support of the Central Bank

14 February 2025, Baku: The Azerbaijan Financial Forum, supported by the Central Bank, was organized by the Azerbaijan Banks Association, the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, the Azerbaijan Microfinance Association, the Azerbaijan Fintech Association, and the Azerbaijan Stock Market Participants Association.

 

Opening the Forum, Togrul Aliyev, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank emphasized the crucial role of the strategic initiatives implemented by the Central Bank as part of the ‘2024-2026 Financial Sector Development Strategy’ in in fostering an innovative financial ecosystem.

 

Fuad Isayev, Executive Director of the Central Bank, highlighted the institution’s commitment to strengthening the long-term sustainability of the financial sector.

 

Speaking at the event, Khayyam Ismayilov, Department Director in the Central Bank, underscored the importance of ongoing reforms in regulating non-bank credit institutions, which play a vital role in expanding access to finance for individuals and small businesses.

 

Note that, bringing together representatives from both the public and private sectors, the Azerbaijan Financial Forum served as an effective platform for discussing the sector’s achievements and challenges. The Forum’s main objectives included aligning economic development with the financial sector’s potential, enhancing financial intermediation and inclusion, accelerating digitalization through innovative technologies, and refining financial sector legislation and regulations.
