Central Bank holds next tree planting event dedicated to 100th birth anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev

20 November 2023, Baku: The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to implement initiatives that promote social responsibility and the creation of a healthy environment. Thus, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Central Bank held the next tree planting event on 18 November 2023.
As part of the event, Central Bank employees planted 500 Eldar pines and olive trees suitable for the soil and climate conditions of the Absheron Peninsula in the area of Mushfigabad settlement.
The main purpose of the event was to commemorate the great leader, who always attached great importance to ecological balance and environmental protection in our country, and to carry on the greening tradition of the great leader.
The Central Bank's greening initiative has also been joined by the National Deposit Center.
To note, under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Central Bank, Azerbaijan Banks Association, Azerbaijan Insurers Association, Azerbaijan Microfinance Association, Azerbaijan Stock Market Participants Association and Azerbaijan Fintech Association, a total of 1,000,000 trees will be planted starting this year, 100,000 trees per year for 10 years.
